make money online tipsIf you are into affiliate marketing, you must know there are many  methods in which you can increase your profits when trying to make money online. Most of these methods and techniques can be learned easily. You can find them online 24/7 and many of them are FREE, like the one I am talking about.

As you already may have guessed from the title it is:

"Product Recommendations"

Wow, I would never though of that, I bet you never had seen this one (in case you haven´t notice, I am just been sarcastic), but still, many marketers use this technique without any precaution and promote everything by recommendation.

Beware, if you do that, your credibility may decrease, this going to happen often when your recommendations are way too exaggerated and without much merit. Marketers tend to Hyped up every single minor feature of the product they are promoting.

 Please don´t ask me about this Super Method, I am sorry to tell you that this title was just an example, there is not such a GREAT secret to know about. I am sure after reading that title you were all hyped up and want it to buy my product instantly, shame on me that I don´t have a product to sell now that I almost got you, well maybe next time.

Most of the marketers knows that people buy more based on emotions than rational thinking, so they want us to warm up and doing some pre sale with the exaggerated title, that´s why now there are so many people that just stop to believe in anyone else and make us so hard to get a sale.

By instance, will you kindly buy any product I ask you to got with my link? I don´t think so (If you do, then please contact me I will be glad to know you), you will ask some other people and of course look for a Review or Recommendation from an already known person to you.

 If the customers or visitors trust you enough, then they will definitely trust your recommendations or reviews and buy from your affiliate link.

Do not be afraid to mention things that you do not like about a given product or service. Rather than lose any trust on you, this will make your recommendation more realistic and will tend to increase your credibility.

Furthermore, if your visitors are really interested in what you are offering, they will be more than delighted to learn what is good about the product, what is not so good, and how the product will benefit them.

When you are recommending a certain product, there are some things to remember on how to make it work effectively and for your advantage.

Sound like the true and leading expert in your field. (If you actually can´t, then better don´t sell that product)

Remember this simple formula:

Price resistance diminishes in direct proportion to trust.

If your visitors feel and believe that you are an expert in your niche, they are more inclined to making that purchase. On the other hand, if you are not exuding any confidence and self-assurance in endorsing your products, they will probably feel that same way and will go in search of another product or service which is more believable, but still do not exaggerate, some amount of hype it maybe necessary to move some people that gets paralyzed by procrastination, just do not over do it.

How do you establish this aura of expertise?

By offering unique and new solutions they would not get anywhere else. Show proof that what you are promoting works as promised. Display prominent testimonials and endorsements from respected and known personalities, in related fields of course.

Offer added value, like some extra bonus that will make the perfect companion for their new purchase and of course for FREE. The more they feel they are getting for their hard earned dollars the more prone to buy they will be.

People are already familiar with the concept of offering freebies to promoting your own products. But very few people do this to promote affiliate products. Try to offer freebies that can promote or even have some information about your products or services.

Avoid too much hype, the less the better. It is better to sound low key and confident, than to scream and seek attention. Besides, you would not want to sound unprofessional and have that thinking stick to your potential customers and clients, now would you? Guess not, best to appear cool and self-assured at the same time.

And remember; prospects are not stupid. They are actually turning to experts and may already know the things that you know. If you back up your claims with hard facts and data, they would gladly put down hundreds, or even thousands worth of money to your promotions. But if you don’t, they are smart enough to try and look at your competitors and what they are offering.

Before you add recommendations to you product, it is given that you should try and test the product and support. Do not run the risk of promoting junk products and services. Just think how long it took you to build credibility and trust among your visitors.

If possible, have recommendations of products that you have 100% confidence in. Test the product support before you begin to ensure that the people you are referring it to would not be left high and dry when a problem suddenly arouse.

Have a look at your affiliate market and look at the strategies you are using. You may not be focusing on the recommendations that your products need to have. You plan of action is sometimes not the only thing that is making your program works.

Try product recommendation and be among those few who have proven its worth.

Of course sometimes it is not possible to test and buy every single product you want to sell but at least you can try to promote the ones that big name Marketers do. They have more to lose than you, their reputation it is by itself profitable and they cannot afford to lose it. Leverage from them.

Hawkins- Hi Brian, but the actual problem with this is that those Big Guys are hurting us, the medium to small marketers are now facing a lack of attention from prospects, they just got paranoic and thinks every single word coming from your mouth it´s made to sell them something and they just fly away faster as they came.
      But still, some people move only why hype, we are too many procrastinators (I know I am sometimes or maybe many) in the online world.

So, it will great for me if I will recommend a product which I enjoyed it. Though I have not yet tried that kind of earning online. Will be trying it soon.

    1. Vic – BusinessAccent- Hi Vic, this kind of activity can bring you more money than PPC but they take longer to make a sale, PPC its easier since it´s free for the visitor to just click, but most PPC´s give you real peanuts.

  2. well… you got it right! The “big boys” can pretty much sell anything.. they are established and hey, if they have 40,000 readers, then they are doing something right!

    But, it does SUCK that just because they have those huge numbers, they can toss up a product and because of “who they are”, people will jump all over it!

    I’ve offered a few products in posts, that I know and believe in. Others are listed in my ads on my blog. But only stuff I use and believe in!

    BUT, would any of us go the route of the “big boys” if we could? HA!

  3. Luis, I prefer products comparison then product review, and then product recommendation. I think there are difference on those three. People want product comparison more than product review, and they need product review than product recommendation. I think the word product recommendation is too pushy. I prefer using comparison. By doing some product compare I am indirectly recommend a product. By doing product comparison we give several option of a product. I’m recently doing some PPC campaign on “hosting” product. Unfortunately it does not went well. Maybe because I did not do some comparison.

  4. I think many people will buy your product if you substantiate some proof of such quality or include a testimonial from a top blogger. Perhaps in the league of John Chow or Darren Rowse. But then again your product must be that good to get their endorsement. But first of all you have to make a name for yourself too before ever thinking that these names are going to support you and your product:))

  6. Hello Luis. Product recommendation is good advice once credibility and trust has been established. If you are credible enough, it is more likely that your visitors and loyal readers will trust a recommendation from you and feel compelled to at least take a peek of what you are suggesting.

    Done without any regards for trust, credibility and respect will hurt you and drive your visitors away – for good.
