TeasasTips, Some companies have some kind of secure links and after you hit the link they keep a cookie and inmediately your link it is deleted from the address bar, but the problem it is before that, just when they actually look at your link and they decide to click on it, in that moment if they see a link like this http://www.thecompany.com/?=yourid, they´ll know what part to delete and you lose your commission.

Even if you use html like in an email or in your own blog and try to disguise your affiliate link with a “Click Here” there is a simple way to know the actual link below it. Just by been over the link and right click it and choose “Properties” you´ll be able to see it, then they just saw the company address and copy it and you lose your commission.

With this easy technique (Cloaking) they cannot see your actual affiliate link, therefore you save your commission.

Affiliate commission theft seems to be prevalent…is this with all affiliate programs?

Because the CPA networks have secure links…I believe
