Make a list as long as you are able to enumerating all the interests you’ve and where you already have some knowledge and expertise.

You may never have done any rock climbing, but if the topic has all of the time fascinated you and you’ve often read stories on defying climbing up adventures, then it will be almost the same as knowing about the topic.

A topic such this could be just as good as a hobby that you’ve had for many years. Add these interests to your list of potential niches. Nothing that could interest you should be left out. The only criteria is that you’ll enjoy searching and writing on the topic.

  1. I do believe it is important to first investigate niches you are familiar with, and enjoy working on. I know some people make the mistake of going after the highest paying niches, but yet they don’t gain any ground on the competition and make no money out of it as a result, because they lack interest in the topic. So I definiltely always recommend going after niches you feel comfortable and enjoy working on.

    Till then,

    Jean

  2. Hello Luis,

Those are some great tips and resources you gave. I have found that many people jump into the first opportunity that comes along, without researching it and wonder why they don’t make any money. If you do some research and are passionate about a niche, you’ll be much better off and on the road to success.

  3. The market is filled with ideas that only wait to see the daylight. But modern economical crisis makes people wait and see how the situation will turn. So, this is the best time to try something new that could give huge benefits. I think that there is also a risk that if something will go wrong it will be harder to start again, buy… No risk, no fun, as they say.

  4. Hi Luis,

Nice post and I do agree with you. Passion and enthusiam are the key to your nich. And even though we still don’t have the great knowledge and expertise to it, we can still write about it. What we can do is to write anything about ar selected niche from the beginning of our search for excellence to the achievement of that excellence.

    • Hi Vic,

Yes, it is the key and maybe the only that will help you to go on, without enthusiasm and passion you may end up completely burnt out and consequently you will quit, something that happens very often in the online world.

  5. By the way, sorry to make a second comment.
I just want to tell you that my mozilla firefox got porblems and I am using Internet Explorer8 now. I have noticed that your blog template looks different and has a sidebar placement problem. Your alxa rank is also decreasing. I wish all the best for your blog.

    My best regards,

    Vic

    • Hi Vic,

Most of the WP blogs I have visited looks better with mozilla and looks pretty awful with IE. And yes my Alexa are decreasing, guess it is cuz my posting and online activity has decrease a lot, I will improve that as soons as I can.

  6. Hi Luis,

Which do you prefer? Doing niche market or doing broad market? After some thinking I think I want to do the broad market. Instead of making blog about forex investing, I can do general investing. That way I can create more articles and the blog could be bigger.

    • Hi Ian,

      Good to see you back.

Depends on how broader are you talking about. If it is a way too competitive market I will not get into any broader markets and I would prefer a niche market inside that broader market, where at least I can compete and place my keywords on the first page of the serps.

For what I know the broader market is the more competition you will encounter. So, I guess it will depends of your resources like time and money.

    • Hi Jeandsen ,

You are right, besides doing full research we need to test and test and test and…, this is the only way to succeed, even if it sounds a lot of work. Maybe that is why not many people succeed, they just stop trying hatder and harder, they quit before succeeding.

  7. I’m looking for some legitimate ways to make money online. I really want to be able to make some money from home to help me with the state of the economy. Please let me know of some legitimate ways to make money online without having to pay anything. I am also not looking for anything that is a scam because that seems to be all that I can find online these times. Please let me know of some websites that any of you have tried and are known to easily work. Thanks in advance and your help would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Good article about choosing a niche. It is very important to take ample time to choose your niche. While you can make money with nearly any niche, you will only really be successful in certain niches. So it is best to do the research to find where your best opening is. The trick is to find something that interests you but is still very profitable.

  9. I think everything posted made a ton of sense. However, think about this, suppose you typed a catchier post title? I mean, I don’t want to tell you how to run your website, but suppose you added a headline that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean How To Find A Profitable Niche Market To Make Money Online | Make Money Online is a little boring. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s home page and see how they write post titles to get viewers to open the links. You might add a video or a picture or two to grab readers interested about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it might make your blog a little bit more interesting.
