But even the best niches, weaken, become outdated or obsolete. That’s why you need to perform regular niche maintenance on your business, product, or service, just like you would perform maintenance on you car.

Whether it’s your car, your body, or your niche; regular maintenance helps to keep it working strong for you.

I’m sure you’ve seen many successful businesses fail after a burst of success, it’s usually because they failed to do niche maintenance. Don’t let it happen to you. Keep reading.

I’ve included an exclusive “Niche Maintenance Checklist” that will keep your product or service strong and will help to give it longevity.

I suggest you go through this maintenance checklist at least one a month, or each week for maximum benefit.

Niche Maintenance Checklist for Products and Services: Give yourself 1 point for each yes answer. Your goal should be to maintain a score of 10.

1. Do I know what my competitive advantages are?

2. Do I have them written down? And do I constantly try to add to them?

3. Name at least one new problem my target customers are facing that I can solve through my product or service this week or month?

4. What extra service can I provide that my competition can’t provide?

7. Do I aggressively solicit comments, complaints or questions from my customers?

8. Do I know my competitors latest competitive advantages over my product or service?

9. Do I avoid getting complacent or satisfied? Do I aggressively seek how to improve …DAILY?

10. Do I aggressively seek and test new ideas while holding on to what works?

By reviewing the above questions and scoring at least a 10 each week you are insuring yourself of maintaining a strong, profit generating niche. Ignore it and you could allow your competition (or failure) to sneak up on you.

There has been a lot written about niche affiliate marketing recently. As a business model I have had personal success earning a lot of money doing it.

However niche marketing is not the answer for everyone. Here is what you are going to need to do if you expect to make money online using this business model.

1. Not all niches are created equal. If you expect to make money targeting a niche you must pick one where people are spending money right now.

No matter how good of an Internet marketer you are creating a market online is almost impossible to do. Plus why would you want to waste your time and money creating a market when there are literally thousands of them you can start making money in right now.

2. Choose your products carefully. Finding products to sell on the Internet today is very easy to do. However you must represent quality products if you want to make the most amount of money.

Selling a product you have personally purchased his one good strategy. Create reports about these products that a reader would find interesting and want to click through to your sales page. For this reason ownning the product really is a big advantage for you compared to other niche affiliate marketers.

3. Spend the majority of your time working on getting quality website visitors. This is still a big problem for most people trying to earn money online today.

Even if you discover a really good niche where people are purchasing things, and you come across great products to promote, if you do not advertise online correctly you will never sell anything.

The reason this is so hard is because most people never learn one specific way to promote on the Internet. They tend to jump around trying different things and really never get any good at one of them.

For this reason focusing on how to promote your niche market product will be a big key to your success. This may take you several hundred or even thousands of hours to become an expert at.

Pay per click advertising is the fastest way to get traffic to your site. However you can lose a lot of money if you do not know what you are doing so you must learn before you try this method.

Marketing with articles is a great way to develop traffic on a long term basis. When you combine this with blog marketing you have a great 1-2 combination for promoting your niche products online. However again this is not something you can learn in one day.

In summary niche affiliate marketing is not the complete answer if you do not find markets where people are spending their money. Then advertise quality products by concentrating on one specific promotion method. If you do this you will earn money online!

Socializing Instead Of Promoting Your Link Building Strategy

The online world is an environment where socializing is a key element to building ones presence. You may wish to purely build a presence for yourself but most often it’s about building the presence of your blog or site.

Part of the presence building process is to create links to your site. But it’s not just any links that you are looking for. Links need to come from sites that have at least a PageRank of 3 and preferably more. Receiving a link back from other blogs with a high PR will build your blog’s reputation.

One of the best ways to encourage other bloggers to link back to you is by participating in the social environment of the internet. This may be in various forms from one on one conversations to crowd chat.

Connect with people and they will connect back. One way to connect is to comment on other people’s blogs. Be sure to be polite and to voice well thought out opinions. Contribute meaningful content, don’t just make a noise to be noticed. You need the right kind of attention. Besides you may ended up in the spam folder and your comment may never see the light.

Another way to connect is to participate on forums that deal with topics that you write about or are interested in. If you are in the Marketing Niche then one of the best forums is Warrior Forum. Make a name for yourself by commenting and offering good content that forum participants can benefit from. And do this regularly.

Sign up to social networking sites such as Digg, Mixx or StumbleUpon. Participate by supporting articles that you find of interest, vote for them, comment on them and in general show that you are an interested member of this special community.

The new social networking sites are also spaces where you can participate. These would be Facebook, MySpace and Twitter amongst a host of sites that offer a sharing and community environment.

Set up fan pages and provide content that people are interested in.  Comment on the activities and interests of your friends and participate in a respectful manner by listening, sharing and contributing on topics that are of interest to others.

Twitter is the newly popular kid on the block. This is a networking site that allows a maximum of 140 characters per message. Participate by sharing some part of your life, your interests and your opinion. Listen to what others have to say and contribute to their conversation.

Besides the above there are other opportunities to contribute your opinion, share the other person’s experiences and knowledge and to participate in a two way conversation. Some of these are Flickr the photo image sharing site YouTube the premier video sharing site.

Then there are Wikis that you can set up on a topic that you are expert on or share information on other people’s wikis. You can contribute to Wikipedia and provide information to this amazing knowledge site.

The more you participate the more your name will be recognised. Where ever you have the opportunity make sure that your blog’s URL is visible. But do stick with the internet protocol of holding a two way conversation which means that your blog is mentioned but not promoted like an ad in the Super Bowl or even worse it’s the only contribution you make.

Be very careful that you are not considered a spammer by over promoting your blog or site. The online world works the best if your promotion of yourself is low key. People will check your site if you are interesting and contribute to the conversation in a meaningful way.

How To Optimise Your White Hat Or Natural SEO

Once you have set up your blog and started populating it with content you need to take the process one step further. Remember that you will have chosen a set of keywords already and established the topic of your niche.

Now take this foundation and optimise it further. The questions that will come up will be what further keywords should you go after? What topics should you write about and what sites should you try to get links from?

You need to work out how to track your traffic and work out where you get the most traffic from. Work on multiplying the traffic that you are already getting now to make it even more effective.

Google offers a great analytics tool, Google Analytics. With this tool you can see what keywords are driving you the most visits. The way to do this is to go to ‘traffic sources’ and ‘keywords’ and then click on non-paid.

The results will only be of the top 10 term so you might want to expand to 50 to establish where your traffic might be coming from. Check to see what is sending you the most clicks.  You will probably find that it’s only five or six words. After that it drops off quickly.

Your name will probably show up first. If you are selling a product, that might show second.  Take your next search words and type them into Google and see how you rank on those.

For every spot that you can move up in terms of Google search results the more clicks you will get. It can improve your clicks up to 10 to 20% higher. If you move from spot 2 to spot 1 your volume can more than triple. Position is everything.

Position also counts highly when looking at the keywords. Ranking number 1 on a medium value term will be worth more than a lower ranking on a higher value term. Quality is also essential. So ranking number one is far more valuable than having a list of terms ranking say at number 10 spot.

Focus on getting your keywords to the top three spots. It makes a huge difference to your traffic results and the return if you are selling a product. Of course it would be foolish to spend effort on ranking a term if there are no searches for it.

Avoid this mistake by checking your Analytics and seeing what has enough search volume pointing to the keywords already.

Once you have some keywords, or even just one keyword in the first three positions you can now start using and promoting keywords around this well positioned keyword. You can use Google Wonder Wheel and Google Suggest together to work out what words will fit around your prominent keyword and will add to the value of your blog.

These results will be different for Google Suggest and Google Wonder Wheel. This is because Google Suggest shows you the most commons searches that match the terms you are typing.

While Google Wonder Wheel shows you the most closely related searches organised by theme.

Once you have these allied keywords identified, use them to create content. As with your normal keyword use, include them in the title of your copy, in your page title, meta descriptions and in the body of your articles.

7 Tips How To Build BackLinks Successfully

Backlink Definition

Backlinks are defined as incoming links to a website or web page. The Popularity or Importance of a site or web page are given by the number of  backlinks they have. Besides of what backlinks meant for SEO or search engine optimisation, there are other significant indicators attached to these links, they show who is really paying attention to that webpage or site.

How To Build BackLinks Successfully

1) First thing you have to know in building backlinks is that all your efforts need to look natural to the search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc). If your Link building efforts show a natural growth, search engines will rewarded you for your efforts. Besides they really need those backlinks to know how important your site is.

2) You will need to remember during your natural link building campaign that your backlinks must be backed by some value for the search engines. A real value is a link from an unique blog post or a site with great content within your niche for instance or with a Page Rank some what higher than yours.

3) Be sure that your link is from a non-duplicate page. There are some sites that need to use duplicate content. If a site is selling a product to for instance English speaking countries then each country site would have the same content with some elements of localization.

Google may see a link from a site like this as being a link from a duplicate page and may give it a lesser rating. To avoid this It would be easier to make sure that your links come from non-duplicate pages.

4) Backlinks should come from relevant sites. There is some dispute about the validity of this point amongst some SEO people. But , it maybe probably safe to say that Google weights a link from a relevant site higher than one from a non-relevant site.

This only means that if you have a site about weight  loss then a link from a site that is about golf may not be as effective as a site that is about weight management.

Google does support the principle that incoming links are harmless. Since No webmaster is necessarily responsible as to who links to his site and should not be penalized. But, beware to whom are you linking to. This may affect your ranking. That is if you link to a suspected spam site or that promotes illegal activities then you may be slapped, oops I mean penalized. Therefore,  the basic concept that links need to be relevant to be most powerful is still true.

But there is also true that a backlink from well stablished sites with higher page rank than your site (some PR5 or PR9, may help you even if they are not relevant to your site) and DoFollow will help you out.

5) Make backlink building slow over time. Remember, your link building strategy should be to look natural. Google’s spiders crawling your site will start to wonder if your backlinks are built too lighting fast. This is especially important when your site is brand new. Having a new site that suddenly show up dozens or e hundreds of backlinks in a short time can look you are trying to get smart and believe me "G" it is not stupid at all.

6) Anchor text links need to show a variety.  The Anchor texts are the words you use to hyperlink to your site. If you constantly use the same keywords then the search engines will see this as "too perfect" to be real and will realize that you are making yuor own links. Again you need to make it look natural.

For instance if your keyword is make make money online and you use these keywords every time you link back to your site then it will start becoming obvious that a keyword is being promoted rather than a natural backlink being created.

7)The website or webpage to which you are building backlinks must have your main keyword, preferably in the title tag. If you are linking make money online in the anchor text as this is your keyword, then you need to ensure that the page the hyperlink is linking has this keyword in it.

Be sure you have selected keywords that do not have too much competition. If you are trying to compete against keywords used by big institutions such as banks or computers then your efforts will need to be to big for you to achieve any significant benefit from your backlinks as you are competing against sites with huge numbers of backlinks already.

Use the above tips to give your backlink building project a real boost and a chance to promote your website or webpage to the first page of the Google search results or serps.

How To Find A Profitable Niche Market To Make Money Online

As online marketers we need to find a little focused areas where we may base our business and make money online from. At the same time a lot of online entrepreneurs find it rather hard to select on their niches.

There are various steps to take whilst seeking your niche or niches. The first one might be to begin considering your own interests and see whether any of these could be used for a niche in your IM business.

What hobbies and interests do you have? Do you enjoy watching sports, do you love handcrafts or carpentry, are you an eager reader of novels or do you love working in the garden? Make a list as long as you are able to enumerating all the interests you’ve and where you already have some knowledge and expertise.

This can expand into your work environment also. There’s no need for you to limit yourself at all. Whatever topic that comes to mind should make it onto that first list that you collect. You don’t need to use them all at first. Some may be developed later on.

Finding out a niche in an area where you already have some knowledge and love will make your initial launch into an online venture much more gratifying than getting stuck into a topic of which you’ve no knowledge at all and do not even know.

It will as well make it easier for you to be authentic and build yourself a status of an expert. Remember that it will need you having to make material for a blog, articles, e-mail blasts and advertisement. It will make it so a good deal easier if you’re enthusiastic.

If you’ve no former knowledge it does not matter, as long as you find something that coulded interest to you. You may never have done any rock climbing, but if the topic has all of the time fascinated you and you’ve often read stories on defying climbing up adventures, then it will be almost the same as knowing about the topic.

A topic such this could be just as good as a hobby that you’ve had for many years. Add these interests to your list of potential niches. Nothing that could interest you should be left out. The only criteria is that you’ll enjoy searching and writing on the topic.

If you’re still stuck you may do some research on what products and services are being sold with success with online sellers such as amazon, ebay or etsy. What trends can you find, what are hot sellers now and what coulded be the future big item.

There are trends sites such Google Trends or Yahoo buzz to see what´s the latest topics and products and what people are looking for right now.

You could as well would like to use Google’s search-based keyword tool. Use the tool to look for keywords and phrases that you could find worthy for a niche.

Do not forget to look into the offline world. See what magazines are publishing and what their big topics are. Are there products in supermarkets that are getting vast shelf space. For example dieting products might be something you see is very popular.

Choosing on your niche markets ought to be a fun and exciting thing to do, besides that, they can help you to make money online. This industry allows you to be as creative and adventurous as you would like to be. There are no boundaries. So have fun while you work at the beginning of your internet marketing journey.

June 2009 Income Report

June 2009 Income Report finally is out. I recently had a reminding from Benjamin Cip  to post my income for the first time. I did not post it before because I did not track it and even now I am still not sure what other program it is paying me, but I think most of what I am disclosing here it is basically everything for the last month. 

The following it is a list of what I earned with this blog. Even that the last month I have not been very active online because I am working on an offline new business after my layoff. Hopefully it will work and will give me a decent income to live and pay my bills.

Blog Income:

Total Income: $184.53 June 2009

I cannot compare this income to my May income since I did not track it and I still trying to remember into what else I got involved that may gave me some income, but for now I think it is all. I still need to improve some things in this site like finally finishing the advertise page and the make money online page too.

This month there were no private ads, it may be because I were not very active online, since I am too much time in my offline business. The offline world it is very time consuming, that´s why I prefer the online world.

I will focus now on niche sites, but the kind of "set it and forget it" type of sites, since I need a lot of time to set up my offline business, but still need income to pay my bills.

How To Do A Niche Research In 4 Quick Steps

Why looking for niches? Because The Money is in the Niche. You do not need a subscribers list, which it is very important to have, but if you are a beginner or your list is not big enough it would be almost imposible to make a decent amount of money from a tiny list.

You can make quite some money with high-responsive niches. The key is "High Responsive", since when you setup a new site it will not have much traffic, so the more responsive niche you get into the more money you will be able to make when your site still new.

I am using this steps as a blueprint for my own niche research efforts. Use these steps to make a quick and Free choosing of your niche.

(1) Look For Hot Topics At Amazon dot Com

Amazon is the largest online bookstore of the world, and a great place to look for your hot niche. Just go and look the bestsellers. One awesome niche topic is "weight loss" books but this still a huge niche with lots of competitors, so you can make it targeted by looking the current hot topics that the customers are buying.

(2) Check Magazines dot Com

After finding some niches that maybe profitable,  lets look further in. You can look what magazines are popular. Most of the magazines if not all are monthly, so if big companies are printing a new issue every month this means they are obtaining profits then the niche is Great to go for it.

(3) Do Keyword Research

 With the niches you got from your previous research, you will need to do a very thorough keyword research using tools like the free wordtracker to see how many searches are done per month for your niches. For instance, if you have a niche like weight loss, type ´weight loss´ and look for the amount of searches done per month. You will need a minimum of few thousand searches per month to consider that niche real hot.

 (4) Go To The Forums

Visit the forums of your niche. This can help you in two ways, if you are creating your own product then go to the forums to find what problems the people on your niche are facing. Then just create your product targeting the solution for your niche. If you are going for affiliate products then look for the product that can solve those problems. You may look into the Clickbank Marketplace for products to promote in your niche. If you are in the marketing niche then Warrior Forum its one of the best to go, if not the best.

Thats it, these ones were the "FreeWay" to go. There are also better ways but they are not free.
